The Gelatissimo Story
Here at Gelatissimo, we believe life should be celebrated every day with the people you care about. From the little moments to big milestones, we want to be there with you, because life tastes better with gelato!
Our story began in 2002 where our first store opened in the heart of Sydney, Australia. The word-of-mouth spread, and before long, there were queues out the door!
In 2022, we launched into the United States with our first location in Houston, Texas. November saw us open our second USA location in Waikiki, Hawaii. In October 2024 we proudly opened 2 new stores, one in Balboa, Orange County and the second in Rogers, NW Arkansas. We also have stores globally, including in Australia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Saudi Arabia.
Our artisan gelato is made fresh in-store daily, with only the best ingredients. As well as our innovative flavors and indulgent ranges, we’re passionate about providing a range of vegan-friendly, non-dairy, and made without gluten options to suit all.

How much does a Gelatissimo franchise cost?”
The cost of a Gelatissimo franchise depends on the location and territory you’re looking to franchise. It is very difficult to indicate an average or approximate cost as there are too many variables to be consider. Get in contact with our team today to discuss further.
How long does it take to open a store?
Altogether, we suggest allowing up to 20 weeks. If there is a site and lease available that suits your needs, the build phase is approximately 12 weeks long. Subject to size of site and available contractors.
What is the term of the Franchise agreement?
The term of the individual Franchise agreement will be set at 10 years with an option period for 2 x 5 years.
The term of the multi-unit development agreement (MUDA) will be dependent upon the number of stores within the territory. Eg if it’s a 3 store MUDA, then the term of the MUDA agreement will be 3 years.
Where is the product to be sold coming from?
All our gelato is made fresh in-store. We will provide the majority of the products required for you to make your gelato. This ensures the product standard in each franchise area is the same high-quality standard. However, there will be some things we will work with you on that will only be suitably available in your own area
